Light + Render + Compositing + Fx
In our Post Production department we are doing Lighting, Compositing, and Render & FX works.
Lighting in 3D animation is much like lighting in photography or filmmaking. The lighting artist sets up a combination of light sources to either draw attention to a special part of the setting, set the overall mood of the scene, or represent the natural properties of the scene such as time of the day.
Compositing is a huge part of creating the final image. It may surprise you that compositing in 3D animation can be as complex, if not more, as compositing with live-action sequences.
The entire look of the final render is therefore determined by the modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, and animation information combined together and rendered, pixel by pixel.
The goal of an FX artist is to create seamless effects so the audience doesn’t think about the fact that the effects are computer-generated. This can take countless hours of research into real-life phenomena, watching reference videos, and even building new tools for teams to use. FX artists are essential in today’s entertainment business as most films, TV shows and games require digital effects
